Regional Transit Framework Plan
The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) developed a long range vision for transit for their region. The Regional Transit Framework Plan was one portion of the foundation for transit investments in their community. The overall goal was a multi-modal transportation system. The eight month study looked at how people travel across the region and where current and future development patterns are favorable to high-capacity transit services.
Because the study and plan was such a large effort and one that called for a great amount of public participation the project team decided it was best to create a specific identity and brand for the project. Lauryn created and designed the concept for the brand which highlights the multi-modal aspect of the the study. The goal is to have people immediately recognize that there will be multiple transportation options and routes linking people across the region .
Throughout the process, the public provided input at public events, online meetings, a transit-focused charrette, and a public open house. These events called for many print and digital deliverables that educated and marketed the project to residents to encourage their participation.
