Catawba-Wateree Water Management Group

The Catawba-Wateree Water Management Group (CWWMG) is a Carolinas stakeholder group that exists to identify fund and manage projects that help extend and enhance the capacity of the Catawba-Wateree River to meet human water needs (water supply power production industry agriculture and commerce) while maintaining the ecological health of the waterway. The Strategic Communications team assists the group with public outreach services including active coordination and collaboration with the CWWMG’s members to increase participation and drive strategic growth.

The website design and development, annual report layout, social media content and graphics were just a few deliverables I designed and collaborated with other creatives to help the group enhance their water resource planning efforts.

“The CWWMG has really enjoyed having HDR as our provider for strategic communications services. They have carried our banner to make the CWWMG more visible and known by creating a new website, using social media to push out important information, managing our monthly meetings and general communications, master planning for annual summits, as well as anything else that needs attention. The functionality of the CWWMG is definitely attributable in many ways to the great support behind the scenes of HDR in this area.”

CWWMG Chairman

Each year the CWWMG hosts an annual Water for All Summit. This water conference targets key stakeholders in local government and economic development as participants. The summit includes multiple local speakers who discussing various topics pertaining to water management such as economic development, water policy and collaboration. The group welcomes more than 100 attendees in the day-long conference which includes table-top activities, keynote speakers, and break-out sessions. HDR’s marketing efforts increased 2019 Summit attendance by 43 percent and social media impressions for campaigns leading up to and during the event increased by 629 percent.

I designed the social media graphics, conference program, table top activity materials, presentations, and associated web page for the annual summit. The photographs below were captured by Lauryn at the 2020 Water For All Summit hosted by the City of Gastonia in Gastonia, North Carolina.
